This is a place with charming feng shui with wild beauty, harmony, and peace between mountains, forests and sea. 2. Tomb of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh (Truong Thuy, Le Thuy)
The tomb of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh is located on a large hill of An Ma mountain range, in Truong Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, about 25km south of Le Thuy district center.

The founding hero, the great general, the commander of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh was born in the year of the Tiger (1650) in Chuong Tin commune, Phong Loc district, now Van Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province. He was a man of great military talent, intelligence and bravery, and had many glorious victories. With the consent of Lord Nguyen, he organized the largest migration in history, bringing people from Bo Chinh (Quang Binh), Quang Tri, Quang Duc, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai (generally the Ngu Quang region) to reclaim the wild land to create the prosperous South today.
After his death, he was posthumously awarded with high honors by the Nguyen Dynasty. He was considered a “Superior God”, a “Founding Hero”. Throughout the country, from Quang Binh to Quang Nam – Dong Nai – An Giang – Can Tho and right in the middle of Saigon… Everywhere there are churches or temples dedicated to Nguyen Huu Canh.
Currently, in the grounds of Nguyen Huu Canh’s tomb, there is still a very valuable stone stele. The discovery of his tomb in Truong Thuy commune, Le Thuy district has clarified many historical doubts related to his background and career.
3. Key points on Road 20 Quyet Thang (Bo Trach)
The key points on Route 20 Quyet Thang, part of the legendary Truong Son road, are evidence of the heroic fighting spirit, the iron determination, the sacrifices of our army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Those are the A.T.P key points (A-shaped curve, Ta Le tunnel, Phu-La-Nhich pass), Tra Ang key points, Thong tin cave, Y ta cave, Ba Thang slope… and especially Tam Thanh nien xung phong cave.
On November 14, 1972, American planes bombed the cave, causing the entrance to collapse. Eight youth volunteers and five artillery soldiers were trapped inside. Their comrades tried their best to rescue them and move dozens of tons of rock to block the entrance, but were unsuccessful. After eight days and nights, the brothers and sisters in the cave sacrificed their lives and became a great source of motivation and spiritual strength for officers and soldiers on all fronts.
Today, the Memorial Temple for the heroic martyrs of Road 20 Quyet Thang, built next to the cave of Tam Thanh Nien Xung Phong and other historical landmarks on this road, has become a spiritual destination, a place for people across the country to return to their roots.
4. Key points on Highway 12A (Minh Hoa)
The key points on Highway 12A (Minh Hoa) are evidence of the heroic years of our army and people fighting against the Americans to save the country, with Bai Dinh, Cha Lo, Cong Troi, Mu Da Pass, Khe Ve Pass, Rinh Pass, Hill 37… Places whose names were enough to make the enemy “frightened and terrified” in the past. This place has recorded many glorious feats and sacrifices of thousands of soldiers, youth volunteers and local people, ensuring the road for vehicles to go to the battlefield. Among them, the slogans: “Fight the enemy and go, open the road and advance”, “Aim straight at the enemy, shoot” by the heroic martyr Nguyen Viet Xuan stand out.
5. Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park (Bo Trach)
In 2003, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage. This event marked Quang Binh as an important tourist location, an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
In recent years, Quang Binh has boldly deployed and tested many new types of tourism in Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, keeping up with the general trend and meeting the increasingly diverse needs of tourists. First of all, we must mention the magnificent and magical Thien Duong cave with a wooden staircase system nearly 1,000m long and more than 2.1m wide; Tien Son cave (dry cave), after more than 8 months of investment and renovation, has reopened with a system of stairs, ecological roofs, and lighting, maximizing the magical beauty of the cave; Phong Nha cave (water cave) is also having many innovations in tours and services, creating attractiveness and novelty for tourists.
And especially adventure tourism to Son Doong Cave – the world’s largest cave, Chay River – Dark Cave, Rao Thuong – En Cave, Sinh Ton Valley – Thuy Cung Cave… are increasingly attracting international tourists. Besides, other eco-tourism, historical and cultural destinations such as: Nuoc Mooc Stream, key points on Road 20 Quyet Thang… continue to attract tourists to visit and contemplate.

7. Ly Hoa scenic area (Hai Trach and Thanh Trach, Bo Trach)
Ly Hoa is the name of a rural area formed in 1705, located next to National Highway 1A. Ly Hoa Pass, where the North-South Highway runs through, is a low pass with charming scenery that captivates pedestrians. At the foot of the pass, where the mountains meet the sea, there are countless small and large rocks, high and low, with hundreds of interesting shapes, forming the “unique” Da Nhay beach.
From Ly Hoa Pass, spreading out in three directions, visitors can visit many villages that still preserve many historical and cultural relics of Nam Bo Chinh. To the west, 4km from the pass, is Hy Duyet village, where there used to be ancient Cham towers and statues. Going north about 5km, we will reach the historic Gianh River. To the south, following National Highway 1A for more than 2km, we will meet Ly Hoa River, one of the 5 rivers of Quang Binh. Ly Hoa seaport was formerly called Dai Ly port – where in 1369, under King Tran Du Tong (1341 – 1369), Dai Viet navy defeated the Champa army from the south who came to raid Lam Binh district.
Ly Hoa was endowed by nature with “green mountains and blue water”, and located in a terrain of “mountains on one side” and “sea on three sides”, thus creating an extremely important strategic position for this place during the glorious years of fighting against foreign invaders of the nation in general and Ly Hoa in particular. In particular, during the long resistance war against French colonialism, the land of Ly Hoa – Hai Trach made significant contributions, this was one of the early and strong resistance bases of Quang Binh.
8. Than Dinh Mountain Scenic Spot (Truong Xuan, Quang Ninh)
The scenic spot Than Dinh Mountain, located in Rao Da village (Truong Xuan, Quang Ninh), is located in the sacred land of “Dau Mau Da Tien, Than Dinh Da Phat”. According to legend, while all the mountains in Quang Binh face the South, only Than Dinh faces the North, so the kings in the South accused the mountain of “unrighteousness”.

On the top of Than Dinh Mountain are the remaining traces of Kim Phong Pagoda (also known as Non Pagoda) – a sacred pagoda with many mystical stories about the temple bell, the shrine and especially the crystal clear holy well, accumulating the mountain’s dragon vein, never running dry. According to folklore, whoever drinks or washes their face with this water will always have good luck and peace. The landscape of Than Dinh Mountain still retains its pristine, wild beauty, making people feel like they are lost in a fairyland.
To reach the top of Than Dinh Mountain, visitors must test their strength and determination with more than 1,260 stone steps in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Every year, especially during holidays and Tet, many visitors come to Than Dinh Mountain to admire the beautiful scenery and pray for good luck. When leaving, every visitor holds a bottle of water from the holy well in their hands to wish happiness to their family, relatives and friends.
9. Bang Mineral Spring (Kim Thuy, Le Thuy)
Located about 60km south of Dong Hoi city, in Kim Thuy commune, Le Thuy district, Bang natural hot mineral spring is the only mineral water source in Vietnam with a boiling point of 105 degrees Celsius at the fountain. With many rare trace elements, Bang mineral water is refined to become a prestigious soft drink on the market. Bang mineral spring still retains its pristine, mysterious features with its flora and interesting hot and cold water streams.

Bang mineral water mine area is an ideal location that is being invested in to build an eco-tourism and health care area. It promises to be an ideal destination for tourists in the winter, contributing to breaking the seasonal tourism of Quang Binh. In addition, if following the Dong Hoi – Bang tourist route, tourists can visit the Memorial House of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the Church and Tomb of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh, visit An Ma Lake, Than Dinh Mountain… and many other historical and cultural relics.
