Quang Tri is known as the most fierce “land of fire” during the war against America. The place witnessed the pain of dividing the North and South. Today, peace has been restored, coming to Quang Tri is to feel the sacredness of the heroic land, the place soaked in the blood of our army and people in the long and heroic resistance of the nation. Coming to Quang Tri is also an opportunity to show gratitude to the heroes who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation.

If you are familiar with names like Quang Tri Ancient Citadel or Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery every time you come to Quang Tri. Come to spiritual tourist destinations to offer incense to heroic martyrs, and hear heroic stories of the nation.

To renew spiritual tourist attractions, and to be able to welcome more tourists at night. Quang Tri has built and put into operation a night tourism discovery tour. The two prominent tourist destinations in the night tour program are Quang Tri Citadel and Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery.

Visit Quang Tri Ancient Citadel at night

On a rainy night, we came to Quang Tri Ancient Citadel to offer incense to the heroic martyrs. We were introduced to this place by the tour guide as well as real stories during the war. It was raining in the Ancient Citadel, especially at night, which was a memory that we could hardly forget.

Returning to the Citadel to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs, many members of the Famtrip Mystery of the Sacred Land could not hide their emotions and tears. The voice of Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Lan – Deputy Head of the Quang Tri Citadel Management Board, narrated the relics and artifacts, making everything come to life, touching the hearts of the listeners:

“Nhẹ bước chân và nói khẽ thôi

Cho đồng đội tôi nằm yên dưới cỏ

Trời Quảng Trị trong xanh và lộng gió

Dẫu ồn ào đừng lay động hàng cây

Nhẹ bước chân và nói khẽ thôi

Thành cổ rộng sao đồng đội tôi nằm chật

Mỗi tấc đất là một cuộc đời có thật

Cho tôi hôm nay đến nghẹn ngào”.

During 81 days and nights in the summer of 1972, our army and people successfully defended Quang Tri Citadel and Quang Tri Town, contributing significantly to the victory at the Paris Conference, creating momentum for the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Under the destructive power of 328 thousand tons of bombs, equivalent to 7 atomic bombs that the US dropped on the two cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki of Japan in 1945, the Citadel was almost leveled. Thousands of soldiers fought bravely and remained here forever, their bodies no longer intact. Their blood and bones have melted into the ground… Quang Tri Citadel today is not only a historical relic, but also a cemetery – the common resting place of these soldiers.

“A soldier’s luggage is very simple. A bucket hat, a pair of rubber sandals, a water bottle, an AK gun, a backpack. With just that, they made history…”

Listening to that rich Quang Tri accent, we felt the sacredness of this land, where soldiers’ blood mixed with bricks and stones, every centimeter of land soaked in the blood of heroic martyrs.

After listening to Lan’s story, we went to offer incense to President Ho Chi Minh and release lanterns on the Thach Han River.

After releasing lanterns on Thach Han River, our group went to Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery. The group traveled nearly 40 minutes from the Citadel to the Martyrs Cemetery.

Quang Tri, the land of gratitude for the people and places that have created legends. That is Truong Son Cemetery, the resting place of heroic martyrs from all over the country who sacrificed their lives on the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail during the anti-American war to save the country.

In the heavy rain of Quang Tri, the delegation held a ceremony and offered incense to the heroic martyrs very solemnly and emotionally.

Different from other tours, Quang Tri night tour brings many meanings and feelings to the participants.
