Honoring Son Doong Cave on Google Search

On Google search website, the image of Hang Son Doong, the largest cave, appeared. This is the first time an image of Vietnam appeared on Google search screen in 17 countries.

Today, Son Doong Cave – the world’s largest cave officially discovered in 2009 – one of Vietnam’s natural wonders is promoted on the Google Search homepage of 17 countries and territories including: Vietnam, US Virgin Islands, United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden, Greece, Singapore…

Through Son Doong Doodle, Google continues to spread the unique cultural values ​​and heritage of Vietnam to the world; this is also one of the promotional activities and support to boost Vietnam’s economic and tourism recovery after the pandemic.
The program is implemented by Oxalis Adventure Company, Quang Binh Provincial Department of Tourism with the support of the General Department of Tourism, and famous people to spread pride in one of the most unique natural wonders on the planet and contribute to promoting Vietnam tourism with outstanding activities, including:

1. Organize a roadshow with a parade of 20 bicycles introducing Son Doong Cave and the Son Doong Doodle event on the central streets of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Hoi City in 02 time slots in the morning and afternoon.
2. Set up photobooths at tourist attractions in the province + hang banners at hotels in Dong Hoi, Phong Nha town
3. Communicate about the event on the Amazing Central Heritage fanpage of 05 Central provinces (Quang Binh – Quang Tri – Thua Thien Hue – Quang Nam – Da Nang) and run ads about the event on the Quang Binh Tourism fanpage.
4. Send press releases to reporters to boost media coverage.
5. Work with diplomatic missions of countries that have approved Doodle to have them inform about the event on their websites and social networking sites.
6. Coordinate with units to introduce through the system of public LED screens at the gateways of localities and headquarters of some agencies.

7. Coordinate with Oxalis Company to organize some activities to introduce Son Doong Doodle on the evening of April 14 at the Company’s headquarters and Chay Lap Farmstay.

Google Doodles are special symbols that temporarily replace the Google symbol on the Google.com homepage (or Vietnamese Google – Google.com.vn) to celebrate major holidays, events, achievements, cultural values, and people with important contributions in many fields to the community in a country, or to humanity.
