Tien Son Cave – a different experience in Phong Nha

Tien Son Cave, also known as Dry Cave, is a famous beautiful cave in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang area. However, few tourists know about this cave because they have to walk a lot, so it is not well-known and promoted. The road to Tien Son is winding on the mountainside, at an altitude of about 200m above sea level. The entrance to Tien Son Cave is about 1,000m from Phong Nha Cave. The cave was discovered in 1935. Initially, local residents called this cave Tien Cave because of its mysterious and magical beauty. Later, when Phong Nha Cave was discovered to be a water cave, people called Tien Son Cave Dry Cave.

After a period of temporary closure for maintenance, Tien Son Cave will reopen from December 21, 2023. Visitors can combine visiting Tien Son Cave and Phong Nha Cave in 1 day.

Diverse stalactite system of Tien Son

When you climb about 330 steps to enter the cave, visitors will have the opportunity to admire a beautiful landscape with villages interspersed with mountains, mountains interspersed with villages with the Chay River, Trooc River, Son River leading water from the majestic Truong Son mountain range. The gentle, clear water flows through the countryside and the banks, in the middle of the distant rice fields are small fish ponds. It is difficult to visit the cave without touching the stalactites and stalagmites. Therefore, visitors need to be careful and should only touch these rocks for support when necessary.
